Examples of our work

An example of Algeco’s ability to provide smart places for people to live, work and learn comes from Spain, where we have helped provide new public school places for the City of Barcelona. Facing an urgent need to respond to growing demand for public school places, the city worked with Algeco to help open more new schools for the 2017-18 academic year than at any period in the preceding decade.

Our designers and engineers worked with the experts – the teachers and children - to deliver high quality, vibrant spaces which enhanced the learning experience. These buildings had excellent finishes, and high quality thermal as well as acoustic insulation. The comfort and well-being of students and teachers was central to the project, including large classrooms, air conditioning and generously sized windows to allow the entry of natural light. Another benefit of this modular space solution for education is the ability and flexibility of the space which can be quickly adapted to meet future requirements such as extending classrooms, storage or dining room space.

Meanwhile, in Australia, our ‘Stayover’ locations are helping mining and oil and gas communities live and work in a network of fully serviced, managed accommodation villages.

These villages serve mining and infrastructure clients, allowing remote workers to live and work in high-quality spaces. We recognised that the market for worker accommodation was failing to meet the needs of customers. Sub-standard accommodation was being provided in either basic camps, local motels or shared-housing. Businesses did not have the resource or capacity to manage all aspects of developing, constructing and operating a camp.

In response, Ausco established a new, dedicated business unit to provide a full turn-key solution to customers, encompassing the design, development, building, operating and maintenance of a camp. Our eight villages boast fully equipped rooms, self-service laundries, a range of onsite recreational facilities including gymnasium, and outdoor leisure areas including well equipped BBQ’s, indoor lounge areas and entertainment centres. Safe and comfortable, all villages have onsite management to assist in providing a stress-free living environment for our guests.
